Breathedge 2 Nutriworm Guide: Where to Find Them, the Alcohol Recipe, and What Alcohol Is For

This page covers what Nutriworms are, exactly where to find them, the recipe that turns them into alcohol (Nutriworm + Ice), and everything alcohol is used for — the Medkit, the Chuck's Taxi quest, and the drinking achievements. Nutriworms are a crafting material in Breathedge 2: fat green worms that float in one specific spot, used almost entirely to make alcohol. Alcohol then feeds into three things that matter — healing (Medkits), a quest, and two achievements. The material is niche, but everything it unlocks is worth having.

Know where to look

What Nutriworms Are

Nutriworms (also just called "nutriworm" as a material) are green, worm-shaped crafting components. They're not loot you find everywhere — they're tied to a single location and a single recipe chain, which makes them a "know where to look" material rather than a scavenge-anything one.

Not the same as Oxygen Worms

They are not the same as Oxygen Worms (Oxyworms). That's a different material with a different job: Oxyworms feed into oxygen-related crafting (Purified Oxygen, Oxygen Candles, Gas Generators) and an achievement for collecting 300 of them. Nutriworms feed into alcohol. If you're searching for one and grabbing the other, you're looking in the wrong place — details below.

The taxi platform water tower

Where to Find Them

Nutriworms float above the water tower structure just to the left of the taxi platform — the same platform you visit for the Chuck's Taxi area.

Concretely: head to the taxi platform, look up toward the tower to its left, and you'll see the green worms hovering near it. Fly up and grab them. They're right out in the open, not hidden inside anything, so the only real challenge is knowing to look there at all.

If you're on the Chuck's Taxi quest, you'll be at this platform anyway — grab a few while you're there so you don't make a second trip for the recipe below.

The one recipe that matters

The Alcohol Recipe

The one recipe that matters for Nutriworms is alcohol:

Nutriworm

×1

Ice

×2

Alcohol

Make it in the crafting menu (C) like any other item. The recipe unlocks the first time you collect alcohol, so the first bottle you get (found or crafted) is what makes the craftable version available from then on.

Ice is the easy half — you chip it out of frozen blocks and icy wreckage all over the map (the materials page has the details). The Nutriworm is the half you have to travel for, which is why this page exists. One note: the guides list the ice count inconsistently (the side-quest guide says one ice, the crafting list and other sources say two) — either way, the Nutriworm is the ingredient you can't substitute.

Three real uses

What Alcohol Is For

Alcohol has three real uses in the launch chapter, and two of them are easy to miss:

  • 1. Medkits (the one people miss).

Alcohol is a Medkit ingredient: Medkit = Alcohol ×1 + Fabric ×2. If you want reliable healing, you want a steady alcohol supply — which means a steady Nutriworm supply. This is the most practical reason to gather them, and it's not called out anywhere obvious in-game.

  • 2. The Chuck's Taxi quest.

Near the end of the Chuck's Taxi repair chain, you meet two drinking robots on the platform. They throw things at you when you first approach; you accept their drink, and then you need to provide two more drinks to find common ground with them. Those two drinks are crafted alcohol. Getting this far is part of the quest that ends with you meeting Chuck.

  • 3. The drinking achievements.

Alcohol is what the two drinking-related achievements are built on: drinking 50 bottles total (grants Radiation Protection +10) and drinking 10 bottles in a row (grants Thirst Drain -5%). If you're working through the achievements page, you'll need a steady supply — and that supply starts with Nutriworms.

So the practical chain is: Nutriworms → alcohol → Medkits, quest progress, and achievement progress. The material is niche, but it's the only way in.

Where it all connects

Related Quests, Recipes & Achievements

  • Medkit

Alcohol ×1 + Fabric ×2; healing item (the reason to keep alcohol around).

  • Chuck's Taxi

the side quest where the drinking robots and the two-drink requirement live.

  • Drinking achievements

50 bottles (Radiation Protection +10) and 10 in a row (Thirst Drain -5%).

  • Crafting overview

the full crafting list, including alcohol and everything else, is on the crafting page.

Three traps

Common Mistakes

  1. Confusing Nutriworms with Oxygen Worms.

Different worms, different locations, different uses. Nutriworms are at the taxi platform water tower; Oxyworms are collected from their own spots and make oxygen gear, not alcohol.

  2. Searching the wrong place.

The worms aren't scattered across the map — they're specifically above the water tower left of the taxi platform. Fly up and look toward the tower.

  3. Thinking alcohol is only for quests and drinking.

It's also a Medkit ingredient, and Medkits are the most consistent use you'll get out of it.
