Breathedge 2 Alcohol Guide: The Recipe, Every Use (Medkit, Chuck's Taxi, Achievements), and How to Drink

This page covers the alcohol recipe (Nutriworm + Ice), where to find it, every use — Medkits, the Chuck's Taxi quest, and two drinking achievements — and how drinking actually works. Alcohol in Breathedge 2 isn't a junk item — it's a surprisingly versatile craftable that feeds into healing, quest progress, and achievements. It's made from Nutriworms and Ice, it's rare enough early on that you shouldn't waste bottles, and everything it does is worth knowing before you spend the materials.

Craft when you need it

What Alcohol Is

Alcohol is a finished item rather than a base material: you make it, and then it's consumed for specific jobs. It's not something you scavenge in bulk — it's something you craft when you need it.

  • Medkits (healing).

  • The Chuck's Taxi quest (drinking robots).

  • Two drinking achievements (stat bonuses).

That makes it one of the more useful crafts to keep a small supply of — and it's the reason this page exists separately from the Nutriworm material page (that page covers where the ingredient comes from; this one covers what you do with the finished bottles).

Unlock: collect alcohol once

The Recipe & Where to Get It

The recipe becomes available once you've collected alcohol for the first time — so the first bottle you get (found or crafted) is what makes the craftable version available.

Nutriworm

Alcohol

  • Crafting

Nutriworm + Ice, as above. Nutriworms float above the water tower near the taxi platform (the Nutriworm page has the details).

  • Loose loot and containers

alcohol is somewhat rare in the early game, but you'll find bottles in crates and as occasional drops.

Ice is the easy half (break the floating ice balls with the Scrap tool); the Nutriworm is the part you travel for.

The practical reason to stock up

Use 1 — Medkits

The most practical reason to keep alcohol around:

Medkit = Alcohol ×1 + Fabric ×2.

Medkits are your reliable healing item, and alcohol is one of their two ingredients. If you want a steady healing supply, you want a steady alcohol supply — which loops back to gathering Nutriworms. This is the use that makes alcohol genuinely useful rather than a novelty.

A hard quest requirement

Use 2 — Chuck's Taxi

Alcohol is a hard requirement in the Chuck's Taxi side quest chain.

Near the end of that quest, you meet two drinking robots on the platform. The sequence is: they throw things at you when you first approach, you accept their drink, and then you need to provide two more drinks to find common ground with them. Those two drinks are crafted alcohol.

Without the crafted alcohol, that part of the quest stalls — so if you're working through Chuck's Taxi, bring Nutriworms or pre-crafted bottles with you.

Permanent stat bonuses

Use 3 — The Drinking Achievements

Alcohol is what the two drinking achievements are built on:

  • "Happy Whatever!"

drink 50 bottles of alcohol in total.

    Reward: Radiation Protection +10

  • "Hehehehehe"

drink 10 bottles in a row (without stopping).

    Reward: Thirst Drain Rate -5%

Both are permanent stat bonuses, so if you're hunting achievements, alcohol becomes a real requirement — and you'll need a steady supply, which starts with Nutriworms. The full achievement list is on the achievements page.

Interactions, not inventory

How Drinking Works

Drinking happens through interactions, not an inventory button:

  1. 1

When you meet the drinking robots (or other drink-related NPCs), you interact with them and choose whether or not to drink.

  2. 2

Each drink counts toward the totals — the 50-bottle achievement and the 10-in-a-row achievement both tick up as you actually drink.

  3. 3

For the "10 in a row" achievement, keep drinking consecutively without breaking the chain.

So the practical chain is: Nutriworms → alcohol → drink → achievements and quest progress. The material is niche, but everything it unlocks is worth having.

Four traps

Common Mistakes

  1. Thinking alcohol is only for Medkits.

It also gates the Chuck's Taxi quest and both drinking achievements — budget it, don't burn it all on healing.

  2. Confusing Nutriworms with Oxyworms.

Different worms, different jobs. Nutriworms make alcohol; Oxyworms make oxygen gear. The Nutriworm page keeps them straight.

  3. Not knowing drinking counts toward achievements.

The 50-bottle and 10-in-a-row achievements only progress when you actually drink.

  4. Turning all your Ice into water.

Ice also feeds alcohol (and the oxygen stations) — keep some unprocessed.
