Breathedge 2 Depot Guide: How to Reach It, the Raise Temperature to 100% Route, and the Foreman

This page covers how to reach the Depot (follow New Coordinates until the map changes), the Raise Ambient Temperature to 100% route (repair the Service Warmers, stage by stage), what each warmer costs, and the Foreman and Booster research waiting inside. The Depot is the second major region of Breathedge 2's Chapter 1. After the Outskirts around the crashed train, the story hands you off to a frozen industrial area where one number rules everything: Ambient Temperature. Your job is to push it to 100% by repairing Service Warmers, and each one you fix both raises the number and thaws a little more of the map. This page walks the whole route.

What the Depot Is

The Depot is where the main quest shifts from the Outskirts to a new area. The route is: Outskirts → Depot → triangulate the signal jammer. The Depot is the middle leg — the point where the story leaves the familiar train-side structures behind.

How you get there

After finishing the antenna work, the game gives you New Coordinates. Follow that marker — the destination shows up roughly 230 meters out (a scale reference that changes with your position) — until the map label switches to DEPOT. That label change is the real confirmation that you've crossed into the new region.

Once you're in, the Depot's central problem hits almost immediately: Raise Ambient Temperature to 100%.

A moving repair route

The Core Objective: Raise Ambient Temperature to 100%

There is no single temperature control that finishes this objective. The percentage rises as individual Service Warmers come back online — the Depot is a moving repair route, not a search for one final console. The temperature climbs in clear stages. The documented run-through went:

  1. 17%

  2. 34%

  3. 61%

  4. 78%

  5. 100%

Use the percentage as your progress meter — if it's at 61%, you're genuinely partway, but there are more warmers ahead. Don't expect any one heater to finish the job.

Here's the part that's easy to miss: the temperature number is only half of what each repair does. Some warmers melt the ice around them enough to expose a passage that was previously blocked. After every warmer comes online, check the nearby ice again — a repair can reveal the next route rather than merely adding a percentage point. This matters most mid-Depot: if the percentage has risen but the next marker still feels awkward to reach, look at what just thawed around the heater you repaired.

Read before you commit

What Each Service Warmer Costs

The Depot is full of machinery, but the components you'll actually run short of are the small ones. A Service Warmer typically needs:

Repair cost

  • Metal×4
  • Light Bulb×1
  • Wires×4
  • Electronics×2

Read the warmer's requirement before committing to a deep branch — reaching a machine without a Light Bulb or with too few Wires just means another trip through the same cold route.

Light Bulbs are the least intuitive part. Ordinary lights and televisions look like obvious sources, but they're not the objects you need. The useful lamps have a specific interaction: approach the lamp assembly, unscrew the clamp, then take the Light Bulb. Smashing random lights around the Depot won't fix a shortage — you want those interactable lamp assemblies.

Wires are easier to recognize, but four disappearing into a single warmer can empty a small reserve fast. When you need more, strip the electrical panels and consoles already on your route rather than drifting through open space hoping for loose bundles.

Work by marker distance

How to Work the Depot Route

The three-dimensional layout makes a fixed left-to-right route hard to describe usefully, so work by marker distance instead:

  1. Pin the Service Warmer objective.

  2. Compare the visible fire-marker distances

(at one stage, one warmer was ~139 m away while another was 400+ m).

  3. Repair the nearest practical one.

  4. Inspect anything its heat just uncovered.

  5. Recheck the remaining markers from your new position.

The closer repair is usually the better foothold — not just for travel, but because a repaired warmer creates another heated position, raises the temperature, and may open a passage that changes how you reach the distant marker.

As you push deeper, the repaired warmers also become your safe points: known heated positions between colder sections. If your suit is struggling, move through those warm areas rather than gambling on a long direct crossing to the next objective.

Two traps

The Foreman (in the Depot)

The Foreman robot sits inside the Depot, and the encounter looks broken at first — there's no ordinary repair prompt. Finishing the Foreman is worth doing while you're nearby, but it doesn't replace the Raise Ambient Temperature objective — it's a side job inside the Depot, not the goal itself.

  • Discharge the Foreman first.

The missing action is discharge the Foreman first. This is one of the spots where the chicken becomes mechanically useful rather than just following you around.

  • Press Confirm after each answer.

There's a second, smaller trap during the test: after choosing an answer, you still need to press Confirm. When the questions seemed to stop advancing, that button was the problem — not a failed attempt limit or a broken interaction.

After the discharge, the Foreman runs its calibration test (the three sarcastic-answer questions).

Movement tech

Small Engine Research → Booster

During the Depot progression, Small Engines start appearing, and you can study them for later movement technology.

Examine one when the required parts are already in your inventory; if an engine wants a component you just spent on a Service Warmer, leave it for another pass rather than interrupting the heating chain.

Completing the research makes the Booster available — useful in a region where distances keep growing. Note the distinction: unlocking the blueprint and having a working movement setup are different things. You can finish the Depot without waiting for the Booster to solve the route for you.

Back to the antenna

When the Depot Is Done

The heating route is finished only after the last Service Warmer. Reaching 78/100% still left another heater ahead — keep following the remaining fire markers until the warmer objective is exhausted. Once the final warmer is running, stop hunting for another heat source in the Depot. The story direction shifts back toward the antenna route — follow the next antenna objective from here. The Depot may still hold research, materials, and unfinished side work, but the heating problem that brought you through it is solved.

Heating solved → back to the antenna route.

Four traps

Common Mistakes

  1. Hunting for a single temperature control.

There isn't one. The percentage climbs with every Service Warmer you repair.

  2. Smashing lights for Light Bulbs.

Only the interactable lamp assemblies give bulbs — approach and unscrew the clamp.

  3. Thinking the Foreman is broken.

It needs to be discharged first (the chicken does it), and after each test answer you must press Confirm.

  4. Ignoring the melted passages.

A warmer doesn't just raise the temperature — it can open the next route. Check what thawed after every repair.

What's the deal with the Foreman?
Discharge it first (the chicken is involved), then pass the calibration test — and press Confirm after each answer.
How do I get the Booster?
Research the Small Engines that appear during the Depot route; completing the research unlocks the Booster blueprint.
